I used to work with the Santa Fe Workshops teaching Photoshop workshops for many years, but now the Santa Fe Digital Darkroom Workshops are my own entity providing customized individual AND small group workshops. My background is in social work however and I have started several non-profits associated with photography , i.e. free programs for marginalized youth populations ( gang diversion) collecting donated cameras and giving them to other organizations in need, and a new one working to promote grassroots NGO efforts around the world. I made a trip to Nicaragua and helped initiate a photography program with Empowerment International and have been supplying cameras. I love Nicaragua and hope to return and build some workshops in partnership with EI and other NGO's in the region.
Hope this answers your question.
WIth every good wish

We've looked at Esteli as a site for a future clinic. Right now we are working in a barrio on the outskirts of Managua. I will be in Managua on Sunday nite. If you wish to connect there, email me directly at sherry@aspennaturals.com. Looking forward to meeting you down there!
BTW, there are some great Fair Trade and Micro Finance groups. One is called Opportunity International.

Right now I have no specific agenda or project in NICA. I will ahve some work up here.....about 60%I can do on the net or phone and the rest I will need to travel back to do. As I get settled there I will look around and see what develops.
On the environmental side I want to take look at the big Tilapia farm in the lake and see for myself if it is a boon or a threat. I worked on both the salmon and tilapia dialogues with WWF and remain interested.
Closure to you side of the business, I have though about the possibility of some type of coop with locals to raise vegetables for the high end market that is developing in Granada and SJDS...maybe at altitude to allow for more temperate species to be grown. That is still just a thought at this point.
