Dear Pauline, your name sounds familiar to me. I am in Finland now, but I´ll go to Granada in November. Volunteers are most welcome to teach English, especially to the beginners. Our only volunteer, Alberto from Michigan, teaches the more advanced girls. If you want to contact the director or visit Pronat, you will find the necessary information at apimunic.org. Thank you, Pauline, for contacting me.

Volunteers working with children, as kindergarten assistants, or tutoring early grades, need to have intermediate Spanish, and we hope for at least 8 weeks. Beginners can be okay if they stay longer, fluent speakers are often a great help even for a shorter time. Always looking for people to be general handyment in the schools,, and a month is okay for them. English teachers we prefer three months, likewise people to work with children with problems. (for the latter they need at least advanced Spanish and some experience). Office and promotion we like three months. Small groups who want to come for a few days to do such things as painting a school, building latrines etc. are welcome too. You can always refer people to our website too, thanks Kathy.

Hi PAuline,

It would be great if you can explain what your volunteer requirements are. We are not using a lot of foreign volunteers and I would love to send some your way when I et applicants not fitting our requirements. Can you post the short term groups type thing you mentioned to Jason as well as the longer term requirments?

Hi Pauline,

I'll be arriving in Managua on Wednesday evening. I have a couple meetings there and then I'll be heading down to Granada on Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Regards,

Jason

Pauline,

Your website is typed incorrectly. There is a - after www instead of a '.'. It would be great for you to correct it to get more traffic.

Cheers!

Kathy

Pauline,

Your website is great! It is listed incorrectly on your page here, however, as it is www.la-experanza-granada.org. I found it by trying this instead of what you have posted here. We want people to find us!! Perhaps we can meet in Granada when I'm there in May; always looking for ways to collaborate!

Dear Pauline,
Thank you for your kind offer! I was in Granada a few weeks ago. The teacher, Elli, had had left, but we were lucky to get another voluntary English teacher, Alberto.
It would be wonderful to have two voluntary teachers and two groups of students. Janin and Martha, who are in charge of the project, would like to learn more English, too, and there are lots of young women who would start studying English. As you probably know, our slogan is Para la Mujer por la Mujer - only female students!
Hope to hear from you again
Love,
Kaija

Whenever you feel like starting, please contact Janin or Martha.
